About Paul Annett

I am currently designing new online transactions for the 2012 gov.uk relaunch. I work for the UK Government Digital Service (GDS) at the Cabinet Office.

I’ve designed about 130 websites in the last decade, for brands including Tesco, WWF, Sony BMG, the Sci-Fi Channel, Pearson and Harrods. I also worked on the design for the single-domain prototype for the Government (May 2011).

Until June 2010, I was Senior Designer at Clearleft, an award-winning web design agency in Brighton, on the south coast of England.

As well as designing web sites and iPad apps, I was also heavily involved with the creation of Silverback usability testing software for the Mac. Clearleft made Silverback as a low-cost way that web designers can quickly test how easy their websites are to use, without the need for costly usability testing labs. It has proved to be hugely popular, and is used by the likes of NASA, Yahoo, Apple, Twitter, the Obama presidential campaign, and the UK government.
